When you are making or repairing anything made of material less than 1/2″ thick, you will find 1/4″ dowel too big. Birch dowel rods at 1/12″ and 1/8″ in diameter are not only ideal for reinforcing small frame corners, but can be used as nail plugs, spindles for miniatures, mixing sticks, etc.
